SILENT HILL director brings BEAUTY AND THE BEAST to life
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST was originally published in 1740!
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is a tale as old as time, which is why it’s endured for centuries now and been told in fairy-tale, novel, ballet, film, TV (including reality!), and Broadway form. While Jean Cocteau’s black-and-white French-language LA BELLE ET LA BÊTE is widely considered one of the best films of all time (no lie!) and Disney’s animated version was the first cartoon to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar, there’s still a lot of juice in the story.
Hence Disney’s upcoming live-action adaption of its animated musical starringEmma Watson and Dan Stevens. We know you’re waiting with bated breath just like we are! So in the meantime there’s a new, lush, visually stunning French
take on the classic directed by Christophe Gans (BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF, SILENT HILL) and starring Vincent Cassel (BLACK SWAN, SHEITAN, IRREVERSIBLE) and Léa Seydoux (SPECTRE, BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR, INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS). Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think! The film hits select theaters September 23.
If you can’t wait until September, we took a sneak peek behind the scenes with the director and stars in FM #287. Get it at Magzter.com!
