In an update to our previous story, the debut issue of IDW’s new STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION comic, MIRROR BROKEN has sold out at the distributor level prior to its release date on May 17. A second printing has already been ordered for fans unable to find MIRROR BROKEN issue #1 at their local comic shops before the first edition gets bought up.
MIRROR BROKEN is the the first time fans will be able to see the “Mirror Universe” counterparts of the Enterprise crew from STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. The limited series will illustrate the exploits of the Terran Empire’s Captain Jean-Luc Picard (now with facial hair and no sleeves) and his crew.
The covers (not including variant cover art) for the first three issues are below:
IDW shared these reviews in their official press release:
“A super-buff Picard in a sleeveless muscle shirt? Bring it on.” – LA Times
“Look at those arms. Look at that facial hair. Clearly, this isn’t the Captain Jean-Luc Picard you grew up with, but you can be damned sure that he’s about to become your new favorite. Somehow The Next Generation has gone all Mirror Universe, and we can’t wait to see it in action!” – io9
I’m sorry … did you miss the word “sleeveless” and “jacked” and “Picard” above? Because yes. Very, very yes. – NPR
The first edition goes on sale on May 17, with the second printing arriving on May 31.
